The large dome shade is made of metal and is painted a subtle pale pink on the outside.  The white inner of the shade maximises light output.  The stand too is the same pink and all the adjustable parts and springs are chrome, which gives this such a modern look.   These floor lamps look fabulous in the living room over the sofa, equally as good in a girls bedroom or yours for that matter!  The base is large and heavy so the lamp is not easily knocked over.
